What's the difference between transaction date and posting date?

Transaction Date is the date when the transaction occurs (e.g. when you perform the service), while the posting date is the date when the transaction is finalized and is displayed to your customer. Once a transaction is posted and finalized, you cannot modify the transaction anymore.
